Toyota unveiled its new EV1, an all-electric vehicle, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday.
The vehicle uses a hybrid electric motor that makes its own electricity, along with solar panels to generate electricity.
The car is the first electric vehicle designed for cities, and is meant to compete with gasoline-powered vehicles in urban areas.
The company said it expects the EV1 will be in the hands of more than 2.4 million households by 2025.
“It’s the first car we have designed specifically for cities.
It’s a smart car,” Toyota president Kazuo Hirai said.
“Its a big leap forward.
It can do all the things that you can’t do with gasoline cars, such as going from zero to 100 miles per hour, or being able to go to 60 mph, or be able to drive from New York to Los Angeles in 15 minutes.”
Toyota said it will be producing the EV2 in 2021, and the EV3 in 2024.
Toyota also unveiled the first prototype of its new hybrid electric car, called the EV7, at this year’s CES trade show.
The EV7 is a compact car, about the size of a hatchback.
It has a range of about 100 miles and will go from zero-to-60 mph in less than 3 seconds.
Toyota said the EV8, an EV1 in 2021 and EV2, in 2025, will be smaller than the EV6 and EV7 and have a range between 100 to 160 miles.
The Japanese company said that EVs will be available to the public by 2020.
“I believe it will make the world a better place.
It is a step forward in the development of electric cars,” Hirai told reporters.
The news was greeted with a mix of joy and disappointment by Toyota employees.
“The first EV1 was a very smart car that was a bit too big for cities,” said Akihiro Oda, Toyota’s chief marketing officer.
“We’ve worked hard to improve the EV9.”
He added that it would be too soon to say if the EV10, which will be released in 2020, would be even bigger.
“You need to go back to 2020,” he said.
Hirai also said the new EV will be cheaper than the gas-powered Model S. But he said the cost of the new vehicle will be “much lower than a gasoline car.”
The first EV is Toyota’s latest attempt to compete against other electric vehicles on the road.
The Toyota Prius, which was first released in 2008, is a hybrid-electric hybrid that uses a conventional gasoline engine.
The Prius Plug-In was first announced in 2010.
The latest EV is the most advanced and advanced EV yet, with the biggest batteries ever.
It will cost around $25,000, but will be able take advantage of Toyota’s hybrid technology.
