Politico 1 hr agoA Senate Republican aide says Democrats should let the president make the mistakes of ’08.
| AP | CNBC | WSJ 1 hr, 12 min agoSenate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Wednesday that he’s ready to work with President Donald Trump to make sure his party doesn’t repeat the mistakes Democrats did in 2010.
McConnell, the No. 2 Senate Republican, spoke at a press conference to announce that he’d agreed to hold a vote on a resolution to impeach Obama.
Democrats, who have been pressuring McConnell to remove Obama from office since his inauguration, had threatened to vote to impece him if he didn’t.
McConnell is expected to vote Wednesday on the resolution to hold Obama accountable for the health care law he signed into law.
The House is set to vote on the same resolution, but it’s unlikely to pass, which means it will be up to the Senate to vote.
